Meet the veterinarians on our team...

Before working at The Cat & Dog Clinic, Dr. Conrad worked as an associate veterinarian at Palmdale Veterinary Hospital, Palmdale, California where he treated cats, dogs and exotic pets. Dr. Conrad's special interests include exotic feline medicine--he and his wife both volunteered at the Feline Conservation Center in Rosamond, California (www.wildcatzoo.org). This facility, which is open to the public, is dedicated to the protection, preservation, and breeding of endangered felines, such as tigers, leopards and jaguars.

Dr. Conrad graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2001, where he was treasurer of the student chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and a member of the Omega Tau Sigma veterinary fraternity.

Prior to receiving veterinary training, Dr. Conrad served in the U.S. Air Force for over 13 years as an electronics engineering officer. His tour of duty included assignments at Robins AFB, GA., Norton AFB, Ca., and 2 assignments at Edwards AFB, Ca. His duties included work on programs such as B-1B bomber, F-15 fighter, and Titan IV launch vehicle.

Dr. Conrad and his wife have numerous pets including dogs, desert tortoises and (of course) several cats.

Dr. Conrad strongly believes that keeping pets healthy requires a close, cooperative effort between pet owners and their veterinarian. He looks forward to meeting with owners and helping them care for their pets through better awareness, education, and preventative medicine.

and...

Dr. Ruey Stocking has been practicing as a small animal veterinarian for 15 years. She is a big fan of both dogs and cats but has a very special place in her heart for cats.

Dr. Stocking has a strong interest in feline medicine, surgery and dentistry. While owner of her own cat clinic she was an avid supporter of the local Street Cat Rescue Program and donated her skills, supplies and many hours of her time to this cause.

Before she joined us she was an assistant professor and small animal clinician at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean.

Before joining Ross University, she built and worked at her own cat hospital in Canada. The clinic was similar to Dr. Brousse’s Classic City Cat Care which was the Cat & Dog Clinic’s predecessor.

Dr. Stocking obtained her D.V.M. from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and did her clinical (senior) veterinary year at Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Prior to that, she received her B.Sc.in Animal Science from the University of Maryland at College Park, Maryland.

She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Stocking lives in Athens with her husband, a research veterinarian at UGA. and their four cats: Wednesday, Mr. Stripes Whistle-purr, George and Miss Annabelle Silky-Fur.

Dr. Stocking will be seeing dogs, and especially cats, Monday through Friday 9AM-5 PM.
